What is the Kings Bay Area Multiple Listing Service (MLS)?
Kings Bay, like every real estate market across North America, has a Multiple Listing Service (MLS). The MLS is a database of homes for sale through local real estate brokerages. The local Kings Bay Area Real Estate Brokerages place basic information of each home for sale into the database. Other local real estate brokerages can access this basic information and have an understanding of each home's features, style, amenities, price, etc. The database also tells the researching real estate agent how much of the listing real estate agent's commission will be shared if the researching agent brings a buyer to the home.
This system is an excellent source of shared information that benefits everyone involved. The listing real estate agent may have a great Kings Bay area home for sale, but does not have the perfect buyer for the home. At the same time a competing real estate agent may have a buyer looking for a home just like it. The competing real estate agent (the one with the perfect buyer) can look up homes on the Kings Bay Area MLS, find that perfect home with all the necessary details, and then bring the buyer to the home. In the event the buyer purchases the home, the listing real estate agent shares their commission with the buyer's real estate agent, the buyer gets the perfect home and the seller gets their home sold. Everyone wins.
